Hey all,
I would appreciate if someone could address a few queries that i have. My company is working on installing a Weather Monitoring Station for the local Electric Supply Company. Sensors include windsonic1,hc2s3,cs106 connected to CR1000 with an NL120 ethernet interface
1. We are using a custom pole mount solution, the sensor wires that we ordered are 34'(initial proposal dealt with UT30). We no longer require this length of wire, can i cut it or would it mess with the resistance and affect the measured parameter?
2. the entire system was up and running perfectly on the laptop (and an older PC) but when the time came to deploy, a new workstation(windows 7 pro. 64-bit OS) was used and i am unable to connect to the datalogger(via rs232 or ethernet) through the workstation.
any insight as to what i am missing?
i am using Loggernet 4.0
3.is there a 3rd party SDM that i can use instead of SDM-AO4A/CV04. This device is very expensive, and since i have 5 outputs, i end up having to buy 2 units, of which 1 unit just for one output.
Thanks.
Regarding question 3, have you considered transmitting the data to the whatever system requires the analogue signals using a communications channel instead. The loggers do support MODBUS and DNP3 which are common protocols in industrial SCADA systems.
Thank you for the input Andrew.
We did propose using MODBUS, but the COMPANY we are executing the project for wants us to abide by the original contract/material list.
